In this case study we’ll be zeroing in on the remodeling services we completed for the McCarthy Automotive Group in Olathe, Kansas, and how our construction process has helped their business thrive.
The Problem
Automotive facilities have dozens of factors that must be kept in mind. An automotive facility must meet manufacturer guidelines, attract the eye, and enhance the appeal of the vehicles being sold through excellent presentation. In the case of the McCarthy Automotive Group’s Olathe location, they found themselves running out of space.
McCarthy offers maintenance services to all of its customers. Unfortunately, they found themselves in the position where their existing facility couldn’t keep up with their growing maintenance needs. Additionally, they discovered that their dealership had been a bit worn down and had minor damages that needed fixing. Presentation is everything—if potential customers see a dealership in disarray and an overwhelmed maintenance crew, they may decide to purchase a car elsewhere.
The Solution
Our Senior Project Manager, Jeff Vanderpool, collaborated with Cary Case, our onsite Superintendent, to manage the job in Olathe. We combined our knowledge, experience, and communication skills to get a full understanding of the owner’s overall vision for the changes and develop practical solutions for them. We understand that the bottom line is a fundamental concern for automotive construction projects, so we found budget-conscious solutions that didn’t compromise on the quality of McCarthy’s facility.
Most importantly, our team found a way to expand their existing maintenance facility without disrupting their operation. Their Olathe facility was already struggling to handle maintenance demands—the last thing they needed was to cease operations while we constructed expansions. We found a construction solution that minimally disrupted their operations, letting them focus on executing business as usual.
The Results
McCarthy Olathe Nissan’s facility now has the capacity to meet the growing demands for maintenance and has an overall cleaner, more appealing presentation. The team at McCarthy Automotive Group no longer has to worry about the possibility of turning away customers interested in their maintenance services or having an unprofessional appearance.
The McCarthy Automotive Group strengthened their relationship with Rothwell over the course of their project, making future communication between our two organizations simple. Olathe Nissan now has a go-to contact for all of their construction needs, and we’re happy to be that provider for them.
