In this case study, we’ll focus on our work for Grain Valley Early Childhood Center as part of their start-to-finish design-build contract with us.
The Problem
Grain Valley Early Childhood Center needed a specialized educational facility. They needed to ensure that their new space would meet the standards of their local school district and that the design and construction process was completed on time and within budget. Most importantly, they needed a building that would meet the specific educational needs of their student body. Not only is Eastern Jackson a burgeoning community that would require the space to accommodate a growing student body, but the Grain Valley Early Childhood Center had to be designed to serve the needs of its special-needs children.
Worst of all, Grain Valley didn’t have anything solid yet. They had a vague idea of their requirements, but didn’t have a plan or a partner.
The Solution
Rothwell was happy to step in. We were chosen for the project due to our vast experience in design-build commercial building construction. Grain Valley didn’t even know where to start, so we worked with the team at Davidson Brown Architects to design and then construct a first-class educational facility customized to suit Grain Valley’s specific needs.
Throughout the process, we closely communicated with the Grain Valley Early Childhood Center staff and school district representatives to ensure that all safety requirements were met and that the design of the new space would be functional for their needs. The Results
The new center was completed on time, within budget, and met the safety requirements set forth by the Grain Valley Early Childhood Center. The design-build process allowed us to be creative with the construction of the building and develop tailored solutions to some of Grain Valley’s unique requirements. Ultimately, we delivered a quality product that was functional, aesthetically pleasing, and built with growth in mind. Our team was able to exceed all expectations for this project, resulting in a space that is perfect for early childhood learning.
